American Protestant history

I just finished reading Barry Hankins's book, The Second Great Awakening and the Transcendentalists, a fascinating survey of Protestant (and post-Protestant) religious movements in the first half of the 19th Century. I hope to get this reviewed this weekend, but we'll see how that goes...

At any rate, reading about Protestant revivalism reminded me of Parish Missions, which are a similar renewal effort in American Catholicism, and I wondered a bit about the connection between the two forms of Christian renewal. So, look what I found on Google: "The History of the Parish Mission." Sweet!
